Impact Player To No-Ball DRS: IPL Rules That Changed The Way We Watch Cricket

The rules of the IPL have evolved significantly over the years, shaping the rich cricket festival in India.

The IPL is a unique event that lasts for two months, attracting cricketers from around the world who want to be part of this exciting tournament. The audience numbers are impressive, with millions watching the matches live, making the IPL a great platform for athletes to gain recognition and sometimes even achieve stardom. While traditionalists may have mixed feelings about the league, the Indian Premier League is far from casual street cricket. The regulations surrounding the tournament and its players have changed over time, influencing how the league operates.

Recently, the BCCI informed franchises that temporary player arrangements are permitted. A report clarified the process for mid-season replacements for injured or ill players, introducing a Registered Available Player Pool that teams can use to find substitutes. If all of a team's wicketkeepers are unavailable, they must request special permission from the BCCI to bring in a wicketkeeper from outside the squad until their original players return.
